Since founding Valued Recruitment, we have been huge advocates of the work of Pregnant Then Screwed, a charity dedicating to ending the Motherhood Penalty.
Many of the candidates and clients who we work with have been supported by the charity and have taken part in their marches and campaigns, so we jumped at the chance to support them as part of our recruitment revolution!
We worked with the Founder Joeli Brearley and their Interim Chair, Molly Rowan to recruit a new Chair of the Board and two Board Trustees. This search was a huge undertaking as we were completely inundated with talented women wanting to become part of this mission.
The brief was to attract individuals from a geographically diverse background who could bring a wealth of experience from a legal, Comms, HR or Fundraising background. It was imperative that we shortlisted individuals who aligned closely with the brief and showcased huge passion for the cause. Our biggest challenge was shortlisting a selection of successful candidates out of over 100 excellent applications that we received.
We launched a compelling social media campaign, headhunted a large number of talented individuals, registered and interviewed applicants, assessed huge volumes of CVs and covering letters and discussed the shortlist with the board.
After 6 weeks, we successfully placed three wonderful individuals in the team who now form an enviable, diverse and talented board.
What an honour it has been to work with Joeli, Molly and the rest of the board.
